IMAGINE DRAGONS’ DAN REYNOLDS CALLS OUT EMINEM FOR HATEFUL SPEECH

Written by on September 4, 2018

Thursday night Eminem released a surprise album titled “Kamikaze,” where he took aim at several rappers including Lil Xan, Lil Pump, Joe Budden and even Tyler the Creator. In attacking the Odd Future frontman, Eminem used a homophobic slur on the song, “The Fall.” Imagine Dragon’s Dan Reynolds took to Twitter over the weekend to share his thoughts on hateful language. Although he never mentioned Eminem by name, Reynolds tweeted, “it’s never ok to say a word that is filled with hate … I don’t care what year you were born in or what meaning it has to you. if it contributes to hate and bigotry then it is hateful. period. there is never an ok time to say the word f****t I don’t care who you are.” He added, “I’m very familiar with all his music and the backstory with Tyler. This isn’t the first time it has been used by him and it never has been thoughtful. It’s gross and demeaning in its context.”
